Hey Joe! the drawing of the bird is awesome! you are a lot better than me at digital painting now, the background looks a little fuzzy specially on the water that is close to the island, you may want to try an unsharpen mask filter.

Cool bird design, I agree with robinson. The BG seems a bit blurry, which isn't bad for the stuff far in the distance. I would tighten up the tree trunk, maybe add some sea shells and sand texture to the beach he's sitting on.

The birds expression is great

Colorwise, the shadows are very nicely done, I think you got those right on. The tree could maybe use more definition and maybe sharpening the leaves--the edges particularly--a little would help too. The water certainly looks liquidy, but the individual waves don't quite look like they're on top of the water, but more like layers--do you know what I mean? The bird guy is working well enough, it'd be good to see him either in a different environment or just as a character study so you get a better idea of his anatomy; right now, it seems to lack some information which may be working against it. Good expression.

Looking at it again, some of the things I was complaining about make more sense and do work quite well in the thumbnail. Makes a big difference.

hey thanks for the review.. yeah i see everything you are saying.. I'm not really proud of this piece... I think i'll try another sea piece later..I'm having a real hard time with understanding environments. thanks for the comment
